Metal Gear Solid 4 (may contain spoilers)
So, I just completed MGS4 today and I have to say, it's easily one of the best games I've ever played. The graphics, gameplay, voice acting and story were all superb. It was quite moving for a video games and an excellent piece of art.
To all those that have it/played it; what are your impressions? Did you like it? Did it live up to the hype? Or where you dissapointed with it?
Also, feel free to post your favourite parts.
SPOILER!!!!
Mine was probably the metal gear battle at the end of act4 and crawling through the microwave at the end of act 5
Discuss.

yes it lived up to the hype. At least the cut scenes are more entertaining and worth paying attention to than MGS2. I was actually impressed by Raiden's badassness, almost made me want to play him again............almost.

hmmm I wished the game would worked!! I'm currently on Act 2.. right after the CG part with Derbin as I was on the loading screen. My PS3 restarted... I was confused as hell. So I delete my MGS4 files *thinking it's corrupted* than reinstall. Same problem!! It keep crashing right after I talked to Derbin in Act 2. I think I might need to change my disk.... or my PS3? Any help would be welcome!

The review over at Ars sums it up for me perfectly. I'm a huge MGS fan, but I had mixed feelings about 4. I'll have to play through it again and see what I think then.
As always, the series does a great job at realizing the 'near-future'. The graphics are incredible. The actual story behind the philosophical waffling does a damn good job at joining everything together. Moving through a room that's patrolled by Geckos is terrifying. Vamp was awesome. There are some amazing set-pieces.
But... the script needed some serious tightening-up. Parts of it are excruciating to listen to (i.e. anything said by Naomi). A monkey in spandex diapers is not funny. Johnny Sasaki now = Jar-Jar Binks. When him and Meryl were talking about their wedding while holding off the FROGS he should have been killed off. I'm fine with huge cut scenes, but there are nowhere near enough explorable areas compared to the amount of time spent watching scenes, and half of the explorables that are in the game are wasted following some suspicious dude, or footprints.
Maybe I'm too much of a fanboy, but in all honesty the game feels to me like this generation's Sons of Liberty compared to Snake Eater. In my opinion Snake Eater is by far the better game, and I want them to use the same engine to release this hardware generation's equivalent, sans Kojima. This really is Kojima unleashed, and if he's going to get this indulgent with his scripts, I'm glad he's finished with the series.

Noticing where half the images from that came from, has anyone been on /b/ since MGS4 release? Almost every PS3 owner is trolling with PS3>360 stuff. It seems PS3 owners finally got their hands on something worth having and now they have no idea what to do next.

I bought my PS3 on saturday just for this game, and I was not dissapointed. This is probably the best game i've ever played, the gameplay was superb and so was the story, which tied up everything from previous games. The controls were great too, i'm glad shoot finally got moved to r1
In my opinion MGS4 is the PS3's saviour,as up until now the 360 has had better games in all honesty.
I loved all of the battles between PMC troops and the rebels, and the final showdown between snake and ocelot at the end was epic. Raiden also kicked a huge amount of ass
And finally, who would ever have thought that Ocelot was such a hero? His plan was incredible, he practically brought down the patriots by himself.
And...OMG BIG BOSS!

It's pretty intense. I teared when *SPOILER* Raiden was 'ran over' by the Haven, microwave part (because of the slow crawling and the song), and a little when Naomi 'killed herself' :]
Oh yeah and the Rat Pt 01 -> Patr10t amazed me :P

Yeah, i was devastated when Raiden was hit by Outer Haven, i thought he was dead
It was kinda like in MGS1 where Gray Fox saved snake from metal gear rex

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Warhawk. Play those 3, it will change your mind.
On Metal Gear 4 - the part in the microwave tunnel was awesome. The backstory and end cutscene for Crying Wolf were also really well done. Most powerful parts of a game I've played in a long time. Letting us kick the shit out of a base fighting Liquid in Ray while you pilot Rex was awesome as well.

I'm actually going to get rachet + Clank as i thought the ps2 ones were great, but I could only get 2 games with the ps3 package, so I got mgs + gta.
I've just finished a no kill, no alert playthrough on mgs, so now i'm owning pmc face with my stealth camo and bandana
Next stop, the altair disguise!

I'm going to wait for Kojima to add trophies before I start unlocking shit, since they aren't retroactively awarded.
